After bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh, APTransco also was bifurcated into two companies and the bifurcated company started operations in the new state of Andhra Pradesh from 2014 onwards with its head quarters located in Vijayawada.  APTransco came into existence on 1st February 1999 in the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh with Hyderabad as its head quarters. From 1999 to 2005 the company remained as single buyer of power from various power generators and seller to Electricity Distribution companies. Subsequently, the power purchase function was taken over by the Distribution companies.

Srikant Nagulapalli has been the Chairman and Managing Director of APTransco since June 2019 and Secretary to Government of Andhra Pradesh (heading Energy department). APTransco, a state owned undertaking, operates the state transmission utility for the entire state supplying electricity to about 50 million consumers. Initiatives such as reduction in power purchase cost by about Rs 1350 Cr /yr, introducing artificial intelligence run electricity forecasting models, reduction of electric supply interruptions, bringing a renewable energy export policy were some of the initiatives during his tenure.

Srikant Nagulapalli looks back on a long career in government, local government and state owned undertakings.  For 21 years, he handled diverse roles in the state such as Secretary to Government (Political) General Administration Department, Secretary to Government Tourism Culture and Language Department, Commissioner Visakhapatnam City, CEO Aarogyasri Healthcare Trust, Commissioner Capital Region Development Authority, Project Officer Integrated Tribal Development Agency, and District Collector.

Sri. K. Sreedhar Reddy, assumed the office of Joint Managing Director, on the Forenoon of 05-08-2020. Born on 01.06.1961 at Kotapoluru in SPSR Nellore District, A.P and studied upto Intermediate in Govt Junior College Sullurupet. He studied B Tech and M Tech from S V University College of Engineering, Tirupati.

He joined in Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board (APSEB) as Assistant Engineer and worked in various fields. Further, he also worked with M/s. SNC Lavalin, a Canadian Consulting Agency in conducting Transmission Planning Studies and prepared Reports for Transmission Planning 1999 to 2002 (Three-year plan) and 2002-12 (Long term plan).

He joined as Deputy Director (Distribution) in Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission, (APERC) Hyderabad from 1999 to 2013. Visited Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, and National Regulatory Research Institute, USA during December 7th – 15th 2001 as a part of Executive Exchange Program. Responsible for Issuing expensive power purchase scheme order to mitigate power shortage problem during 2012 and it is first of its kind in India. He is responsible for introduction of kVAh Tariff in the United A.P.

Promoted to the post of Joint Director (Engineering) during 2013 in APERC.

Sri.K.VENKATESWARA RAO, IPS commenced career as Assistant Commercial Tax Officer Gopalapatnam in 1981 and served for a brief period as Sub-divisional Forest Officer Sathupalli. After completion of DSP training in 1987, Maintained Law and Order  as Sub-divisional Police officer of Bapatla, Siddipeta, Kadapa, Dharmavaram and Ongole subdivisions, Addl SP of Krishna and Karimnagar districts, SP of Nizamabad district and DCP of Malkajgiri zone. Served in various wings of police department including Intelligence Security wing, extremist operations, AP special police, railway police and training. After IPS confirmation for 1998 batch, Rendered services on deputation to APGENCO, APBCL and Prohibition and Excise Department.

In the rank of Inspector General of Police, Ensured free and fair elections as Police observer in constituencies of Assam, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh States and Andaman and Nicobar islands.

Received AP Police Uthama Seva Pathakam in 1993, Indian Police Medal in 2014 and DGP’s Commendation Disc in 2019 besides letters of appreciation from District Collectors and Commendation letters from DGPs on several occasions.

Dr.K.Muthupandian is a Post Graduate in Commerce and a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He has been responsible for Director Finance APTRANSCO since 2020 in various aspects of Finance & Accounts in Power sector.

Dr.K.Muthupandian looks back on a long career in government, local government and state owned undertakings. For 38 years, he handled diverse roles such as Dean and Director Saraswathi Thyagaraja College / Centre for Entrepreneurship Development at Pollachi, Chief financial Controller and Secretary TNTRANSCO, Financial Controller Purchase in TANGEDCO and Company secretary in TANTRANSCO, Financial controller Accounts – TANGEDCO and Company Secretary in TANTRANSCO, General manager Finance & Secretary Poom Puhar shipping Corporation Ltd, Financial controller/RAJIV GANDHI GRAM YOJANA Govt of India project Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation, Financial Controller Project best/ Information and Technology in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Chennai. Managing Director, Board Member & Director Finance HUBLI Electricity Supply Company Limited, Karnataka State Electricity Board, Financial Controllers General and Purchase Tamil Nadu Electricity Board at Chennai, Deputy Financial Controllers/budget/works/coal/Stores in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board at Chennai and Faculty & Principal, Management Training institute at Chennai under the Ministry of Agriculture and Co- operation Government of India

Joined in erstwhile Apseb as Asst. Engineer on 30.6.1984. Later opted for Aptransco, Served both the organisations totally for 36 years in various cadres up to the Chief Engineer. Retired voluntarily on 31.1.2020. Assumed charge on 1.2.2020 as Director/Grid,Transmission&Management.
Achievements:
1.Best DE/Mrt in the state in the year 2006.
2.Best circle as SE/Rajahmundry in the year 2010.
Best performance awards by AP Govt.
1. Supply restoration for 3 districts in record time even though 67 Towers collapsed during HUD-HUD Cyclone-2014.
2. During Rajahmundry Pushkaralu -2015, for enhancing the MVA capacity for meeting the pushkara loads in record time.
3. Giving energy support to Pattiseema(2015) by constructing 220kV SS with 35km line in record time.
